  • A: Ben has photographed everything from horses and guinea pigs to scorpions and tarantulas.

Please contact us if you have an unusual pet you would like to have photographed

  • A: 1.5 Hours - The standard package, unless specified otherwise is one and a half hours on average.

Most of our shoots take less than 1.5 hours, but at benocphotography, we have learned that a relaxed environment delivers the best results for our clients, so allow lots of time.

  • A: Not at all. Whilst we specialise in studio work, we don’t mind leaving the comfort of a warm studio and getting muddy in the countryside. If you would like to enquire about a location shoot, please contact us

  • A: Absolutely, photographing a black pet is all about understanding the light you are working with. During the shot, I will sculpt the lighting accordingly to get the best from your pet - capturing their colours, markings and texture of their fur.

  • A: Of course, at benocphotography, we understand that some animals can be very nervous and wary. We have experience working with rescues and older more nervous dogs.

We will always put your pet first; any signs of stress and we will pause the shoot. During every shoot, we make time to desensitise them to the studio environment and the studio flashes.

Please let us know if your pet is nervous before the shoot.

In the rare event your dog cannot cope with the studio environment (this is very rare) we can offer an outside photoshoot - rearranged if necessary.

  • A: Yes, the studio is enclosed and we try to make it a safe environment for your pet. We always lock the doors during a shoot to prevent an escape!

  • A: Our studio is located in the rural countryside of Upper Basildon, Berkshire.

  • A: Whilst we keep our studio topped up with a range of treats and toys. If your pet has a favourite toy or treats, please do bring them along.

  • A: At the enquiry stage we will ask a few questions about your pet (or pets) just to help us set up the lights before the shoot and help us understand your pet and what makes them special to you so we can capture their personality.

On arrival we will ask you to let them wander around the studio (if on lead, myself or my assistant will walk them around the studio) I will flash the lights a few times and reward them with a treat or their favourite toy to help desensitize them to a strange environment.

Whilst your pet is exploring our studio myself and my assistant will discuss what you are after if you had a particular image in your head or something you would like us to capture.

We know how important capturing their personality is and what makes your pet special.

Once we are all happy, they’re comfortable we will begin the shoot and this is where the fun begins. We may ask you to get involved in the session whether that’s holding your dog on their lead or wafting a treat above the camera.

As we take the shots you will be able to see what we are capturing up on the large TV Screen in the studio to discuss what you like and grab a truly magical image.

  • A: Once we are happy that we have captured something special I will go away and tidy the images and produce a final selection.

You will then be given a link to your own private online gallery, where you can view all the images and choose the ones you would like printed.

We also offer a free of charge viewing session at the studio to discuss the images from the session and the best printing and framing options to suit your needs.

  • A: This is very much dependent on the individual pet but we aim to have a selection of 10 to 20 (if not more) of the best images from the shoot to choose from. During the shoot, you may see me shoot of a number of images that I will go away and edit down to provide you with the best selection.
